Yard Manager
JOB TITLE: Yard Manager
REPORTS TO: Mechanic
STATUS: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY: The Yard Manger assists and supports the Mechanics, Truck Drivers, Safety Officer, and Foreman at the Buckley Yard. The position works under direct supervision and performs routine daily activities related to the overall organization or the company yard and day-to-day support of ongoing crew operations. The Yard Manager must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have a strong communication organization skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage & Organize equipment & materials in yard
- Inventory Bulk Materials weekly
- Purchase, receive, and store bulk materials properly
- Organize & Maintain cleanliness of Shop & Yard
- Facilitate truck maintenance & trailers (along with other equipment)
- Weekly Shop Safety Inspections
- Oversee material waste and dumpster pickups
- Daily deliveries to jobsites (if & when required)
Essential Job Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS: Strong verbal communication skills; broad understanding of industry; good time management & organization skills; ability to function effectively as part of a team; dependable; ability to understand and follow directions. Driver's License and clean driving record
PREFERRED SKILLS: Experience in Shop or Yard Management, Heavy Civil Construction knowledge, prior forklift certification, Experience and ability to drive super duty trucks
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: This position prefers experience in the Heavy Civil Construction industry. High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
